The Graduate courses at DII offer a curriculum on Industry 4.0, thanks to the integration of the educational offer of the department with the research activity at CrossLab.

Electronics

At the beginning of the last century, Electronics was the science studying the motion of electrons (initially in vacuum, then in semiconductors). Today, it is a multidisciplinary corpus including the conception, the design, the realization and the characterization of devices , circuits and complex systems for processing, transmission and storage of information.

Computer Engineering (in English)

The MSc provides its students with a solid and in-depth education, in line with the needs of innovation in the field of computer engineering. The course further advances the students’ knowledge portfolio in both the fundamental sciences and the engineering disciplines, and includes a common set of learning activities, which go in-depth into methodological and engineering disciplines and completes the expertise in computer engineering. Students can then choose among three tracks, namely: Computer Systems and Networks, Cyber-physical systems, and Cybersecurity. The first one advances further on large-scale computing and networking infrastructures, the second one provides students with expertise on embedded systems and the internet of things and, finally, the last one focuses on the design of secure systems and applications.

Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering (in English)

The MSc provides a solid in-depth education that enables graduates to design and implement, on one side, systems for efficiently managing large amount of data and extracting useful knowledge from this data, and, on the other, intelligent systems by exploiting artificial intelligence techniques. The MSc advances the student knowledge portfolio in both computer infrastructures for intensive data management, and methods for data analytics and artificial intelligence. These competences allow graduates to interact with professionals (even non-engineering ones) in different domains and contexts where data processing is required, as well as to complete their mastering of computer engineering.

Bionics Engineering (in English)

The University of Pisa (UNIPI) and the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (SSSA), Pisa, in Tuscany - Italy, jointly offer a two-year M.Sc. program in Bionics Engineering (Laurea Magistrale). The program started in September 2015 and is offered in English.
Bionics engineering is a new frontier of biomedical engineering. Bionics indicates the research area which integrates the most advanced robotics and bioengineering technologies with life sciences, such as medicine and neuroscience, materials science, etc., with the ultimate goal of inventing and deploying a new generation of biomimetic machines, human-centred healthcare and (more generally) assistive technologies.

CyberSecurity (in English)

The Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity responds to the growing need for training of specialists with high scientific and technological expertise in the field of cybersecurity. To this end, it provides its graduates with a deep knowledge of the scientific foundations, methodologies and technologies of the area, which allows them to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and to be able to deal with cybersecurity issues in the most diverse application areas.
The course is entirely delivered in English.
