ABSTRACT
Recent maturing of quantum hardware has triggered explorations of systems capable of demonstrating quantum advantage in multiple domains by several nstitutions, including national laboratories, academia and industries. The speaker will cover efforts to leverage technology and expertise developed in particle accelerators to advance quantum computing at the Superconducting Quantum Materials and Systems (SQMS) Center, led by Fermilab. As a research center paving the way in an emerging area of technology and research, the SQMS Center is also committed to empowering the next generation of fquantum scientists and engineers and to steward the related ecosystem to bring innovation in QIS.

Silvia Zorzetti is a senior engineer at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. She is currently deputy head for the co-design department at the National Quantum Information Science Research Center – Superconducting Quantum Materials and Systems Division. She is also co-leading the ecosystem and workforce development thrust for the SQMS Center. She joined Fermilab in 2017 as a Bardeen Fellow. During her Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering and Information Technology from the University of Pisa, she was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the European Council for Nuclear Research (CERN). She is focusing on quantum systems and enabling applications on long-coherence quantum devices.
